SAS70 Certification - Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70, Service Organizations, is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). A SAS 70 audit or service auditor's examination is widely recognized, because it represents that a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their control activities, which generally include controls over information technology and related processes. In today's global economy, service organizations or service providers must demonstrate that they have adequate controls and safeguards when they host or process data belonging to their customers. In addition, the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 make SAS 70 audit reports even more important to the process of reporting on effective internal controls at service organizations.

Secure - ABT systems span 3 data sites. Your instance of ABT's product suite and data set will be developed and launched in one of the sites. All of your instance information and data is mirrored in the other sites. If an entire site were to suffer any form of failure, your applications and data would be available via the other two. Even within your data site your information is being mirrored on separate equipment. If one goes down the user simply logs back in and resumes where they left off. Our time-tested process is stable, secure and always ready for you.

Service Provider - In terms of providing Software as a Service, ABT would be considered your "Service Provider".

Software as a Service - The internet is revolutionizing how companies of all sizes are buying and delivering software to help them manage their businesses. Companies have become increasingly frustrated by resource-intensive application maintenance that adds complication and reduces efficiencies, and are actively seeking the ability to consume software products as services. The Software as a Service (SaaS) revolution offers significant benefits to the company and end user, including reductions in cost, risk, and time.
SaaS is the practice of hosting applications at a secure provider location instead of locally on a server or a PC. End-users use their PC's browser (or other remote access tool such as Remote Desktop or Citrix) to access the applications. The functional and speed qualities of the application are typically not affected since the communications between the browser and hosted server are just screen-based information. The benefits of such a service are multiple:

  • Thinner clients (lower grade) PCs at the desktop
  • No need to maintain applications at the desktop. No upgrades, troubleshooting or IIT maintenance
  • Applications are more easily integrated at the hosting location
  • You pay as you go - you only pay for the applications that you use
